To begin managing pages login to your admin tools, and click on PAGES in the left column.

ADDING A NEW PAGE:
To add a new page follow these instructions:

1. Click ADD NEW at the top.

2. Fill out the fields as follows:
– TITLE: The title of your page.
– DESCRIPTION: Below the title field is a description field for the content of your page, which contains a WYSIWYG editor. Type in your content, or copy and paste it, format as desired using the buttons there. See further below for instructions on use of the MEDIA tool which allows you to add / update an image, video or other media into your page description. In addition with using the inherent editor, you may also opt to use your own HTML code by switching between the TEXT and VISUAL tabs on the right side above the description area. This is only suggested for advanced users.
– SEO FIELDS: Depending upon your specific theme and setup you may have SEO (search engine optimization fields) present. Fill those out as desired using the on screen tips, or the HELP menu on the upper right.
– PAGE ATTRIBUTES: If the new page you have created is a subpage of an existing page, then select the PARENT page from the drop down menu. Optionally you can enter a numeric value for the SORT ORDER field to control the order the page appears within.

Other field options may be available or required for your specific theme setup. Please see custom instruction set provided to you for more details.

*NOTE: Depending upon your specific setup and theme settings the ORDER field may not change the order of the page within your menu system.

3. On the right column click on the PUBLISH button to make it visible on your site. Else if you wish to continue working on it but not make it live, click on the SAVE DRAFT button.

If you do not see your new page show within your navigation menu after publishing, view our “WordPress: Managing Menus” tutorial for instructions.

TIP – “SHORTCODES”:
Depending upon your theme / site setup, your page / post may contain code like this: [SOMENAME VALUE=X] called “short codes”. If you see these present DO NOT DELETE them unless you are an advanced user, as it can remove a feature / function from your page.

COPYING FROM MICROSOFT WORD?
To avoid formatting issues, follow these extra steps:
1. Copy from WORD and paste into WORDPAD, or similar for MAC users. This will strip all extra formatting.
2. Copy from there and paste into your blog / page description.

MANAGING EXISTING PAGES:
1. To delete an existing page, mouse over the page name and click on TRASH to add it to the TRASH folder. This temporarily moves the page from live viewing while retaining it temporarily should you opt to want to add it back in later. If you decide you wish to permanently delete the page, from the top of the PAGES admin you can click on the TRASH link, then either:
a. Mouse over the page name and click DELETE PERMANENTLY.
or
b. If you wish to delete multiple pages place a check next to each page and from the BULK ACTIONS drop down select DELETE PERMANENTLY and click the APPLY link.

2. To edit an existing page mouse over the page name and click EDIT link, then adjust fields as desired and on the right column click PUBLISH.

MEDIA TOOLS:
WordPress offers some extensive MEDIA tools for adding / uploading images, documents, and displaying videos on your website within a description field of your PAGES, POSTS, or other areas. If you wish for your description to contain any of these, you can opt to add them at any time by clicking the link below to follow detailed instructions:
