Below is a list of steps for you to take to get started as quickly as possible. If you have any questions or issues, please feel free to open a ticket via MY ACCOUNT section and we will gladly help.
STEP 1 – PREPARATION:
If you have an existing hosting account with another provider that you are moving to us, DO NOT continue unless you:
a. If we are moving your site: We will contact you back once your website & emails have been moved over to us.
b. If you are moving your own site: To avoid loosing access to your old website, emails, and other important things – ensure you have a full backup of your old site, email accounts, and know exactly what you are doing.
c. If this is for a new website, please continue with the steps below.
STEP 2 – UPDATE YOUR DOMAIN NAME SERVERS:
If you purchased your domain through us, you can skip this step. If you purchased your domain from another provider, please follow these steps to repoint your domain to your new hosting account.
1. Login to your current domain registrar website and go into the DOMAIN MANAGEMENT section.
2. Look for the area labeled as “name servers” and edit those to the following:
NS1.TPPHOST.COM
NS2.TPPHOST.COM
Then save.
Your domain will being pointing to the new hosting account within 1 to 12 hours. Once you are able to view your new hosting account by going to www.yoursite.com, then continue with the next steps.
STEP 3 – WORDPRESS INSTALLATION:
Follow these easy steps to install wordpress:
1. Login to CPANEL > then scroll down to the SOFTACULOUS section and click on WORDPRESS.
2. Follow the instructions for installing wordpress. A few tips:
– DIRECTORY: If you want WP installed into a subdirectory i.e. www.yoursite.com/somefolder/ then use this option. Else ensure it is blank.
– ADMIN USERNAME / ADMIN PASSWORD: Ensure these are something different than your hosting logins for best security. Be sure to mark this done.
– THEME: optional to choose a free theme. You can also skip this and install your own after the installation is complete.
– EMAIL DETAILS TO: Suggested enter your email address so after installation it will email you your logins and URLs needed for managing your site.
