How do I transfer a domain to your company?

Transferring a domain to our company as your registrar takes just a few minutes.

PREPARATION:
Ensure to have the following available.

  • Logins to your existing domain registrar account.
  • Know which email address is set as the main owner of the domains currently.
  • Payment method of choice to add.*

* NOTE: Due to ICANN regulations and security, your main account with us and your domain account are separate. Thus you will need to re-add your select payment method to your new domain account.

TRANSFER STEPS:
1. Unlock your domain(s) (if locked):
This step will have you “unlock” your domain(s) with your current registrar, so they can be transferred.

  • Login to your current registrar account.
  • Go into the domain management section (may be called something different).
  • Unlock any domains you plan to transfer over.
  • After unlocking each domain you wish to transfer, get the authorization code and write it down.
  • Repeat for each domain you wish to transfer.

2. Setup new account: This step will have you create a new domain account with our domain division.

  • Go here: https://domains.tppwebsolutions.com/
  • On top right click SIGN-IN, then click CREATE MY ACCOUNT.
  • FIll out the registration form and ensure to use the same email address as the one currently listed as the owner of the domain(s). This will ensure no delays on transfer.
  • Save your new logins.

3. Starting domain(s) transfer: This step will start the domain transfer process. On our domain site where you just created an account, do the following:

  • Click DOMAINS > then click on DOMAIN TRANSFER option.
  • In the box provided enter your domain name in mysite.com format and click the TRANSFER button.
  • On the next page enter the authorization code it asks for and submit.
  • Continue with the checkout process per instructions on screen.**
  • If it asks if you want to keep the existing domain records (DNS records) ensure to select “Yes”.
  • Complete the checkout process.
  • Repeat the above steps for each domain you wish to transfer.
  • Report back to your project manager.

**NOTE: During checkout you will be given the option for “domain privacy”. This is purely optional add-on service, that will ensure spammers & spambots cannot get your contact information from doing a lookup on your domain.

As soon as domain transfer is complete, you will receive an email(s).

4. Domain forwarding:
After domain transfer is complete, if you wish to do domain forwarding (i.e. have mysite.net forward to mysite.com), follow these steps:
