Instructions for providing stock photos

GENERAL FAQS Viewed: 197

If you are providing photos for your website development, here are a few tips.

  • Any photos you have taken, ensure they are a minimum of 1000X1000 pixels if possible. It’s easier for us to shrink down photos as needed, but we cannot upscale them. If you are unsure how to tell what size they are, send us a single photo from your group of photos so we can review.
  • Ensure any photos you provide that you didn’t take, that you have copyrights for them or are free to use. If you are unsure, please ask your project manager.
  • Do NOT take photos from other websites to use on your website, unless they are being purchased from a stock photo website.

Recommended Stock Photo Websites

If you are purchasing your own photos from a stock photo website, feel free to use any site you desire and ensure you fully read their terms of usage for the photos to ensure they can be used on your website, brochures or other printed materials as you intend.

We personally recommend iStockPhoto.com for your website photo and video needs. See instructions below for the best way to provide your project manager with photos from there.

Instructions For iStockPhoto.com

1. Go to istockphoto.com.

2. Next to the search bar where it says “All content”, click on the down arrow and select “photos”.

3. Enter your search terms, i.e. “family building house” and click enter on your keyboard.

4. On the search results page there are three filters above the images. Ensure to click on the “Essentials” one.
