Do you offer payments due at completion milestones for website projects?

Unless otherwise indicated in your contract under special circumstances, our payment schedules separate your balance into equal payments across the development period in order to keep our pricing competitive and ensure project completion is done as quickly as possible for all clients. This is done for multiple reasons:

  1. Most larger project work may not be visible to a client until it reaches 70% of completion or more:
    – With design work we may work on multiple designs and revisions for several weeks before it is ready for review with a client.
    – With programming work more than 75% of it consists of database & backend programming work, before test data can be entered and shown to a client.

Larger project items may take weeks or even months to complete properly. Like building a house which starts with just a foundation and wood frame, it may not look like the house you envisioned immediately, but it will soon evolve into your home. In order to cover time and costs, having scheduled payments during the development period is necessary.

  1. Requested revisions increase time to completion – Our goal is to ensure our clients are satisfied with their new website. Sometimes we will hit a homerun on the first attempt in a design or programming work, while other times it requires revisions that you may request. Our team will accommodate for most revision requests, and while that typically does not increase your costs, it does increase our time spent on your project. So if we indicate your project will take 8 weeks to complete, but time to complete revision requests increase this by 4 more weeks, a payment schedule ensures your project is kept on schedule. This ensures we can keep our costs down and pass the savings onto you, versus us needing to increase costs for all projects to cover our extra time between payments for projects where we accommodate your revision requests.

In short in order to continue offering our work at competitive rates, reasonable time frames, and offering you numerous revision requests to ensure your complete satisfaction without needing to charge extra, keeping all of our clients on the same payment schedule terms is necessary. This also allows us to ensure our own staff is paid in a timely manner, and a happy staff is a productive one.

I have yet to see any completed work on my project – do I still have to make payment per the schedule?
As indicated above with most larger scale projects, the end work may not be easily visible until it nears or hits 100% completion short of you having a complete understanding of how to review database tables, programming code, and understand the process of evolution in design work. However we do provide email progress reports of the work completed to date and you are more than welcome to request an update at anytime. Just because you are unable to properly review the work completed so far, does not mean no work has been completed. Trust on both sides is a necessary component, and our 100% satisfaction rate to date speaks for itself.

What if I am unsatisfied with the work completed so far – do I still have to make payment per the schedule?
In order for us to offer cost free revisions, yes you still need to make payments per the schedule. Our goal is to complete your website contract to your complete satisfaction. As such even if we do provide you with an initial website design, logo design or database application that you are unsatisfied with, your feedback is an integral part of this procedure. In most cases if you are unsatisfied with the initial work presented to you, the feedback you give us is invaluable and allows us to make revisions that by the second review with you, ensures it fully meets your expectations.

Revisions requests will always increase the time frame of completion of a project, but in most cases do not increase your costs. Our staff dedicates themselves to taking the extra time to do these revisions, without the extra cost to you. As such ensuring your contract payment schedule is maintained is the only thing necessary in return.

What if I prefer different payment terms?
We invite you to discuss this with an account specialist before accepting your contract, to discuss any options that may be available. Other options that may be offered are on a case by case basis and depend upon the size of your project, staff availability, and your account payment history.

What happens to my project if I still refuse to meet the payment schedule until more work is visibly completed?
In the event that you have issues with your contract payment terms, you are invited to call us to discuss your concerns and we will ensure to provide you with a detailed progress report that lists work completed to date. If this still does not meet your satisfaction, then in most cases all work will be suspended and rescheduled once payment is made.

We do apologize in advance if this creates any issues for our clients, but in order to continue offering competitive rates, reasonable time frames, offering you numerous revision requests to ensure your complete satisfaction without needing to charge extra, and ensure our staff who is dedicating themselves to offer cost free revisions are paid on time, keeping all of our clients on the same payment schedule terms is necessary.
